This month the challenge is part of National Home Improvement Month and your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to transform one thing in your home.
Organised by the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA), who have found that 56% of UK residents don’t love their home, the aim is to embrace the mantra of don’t move – improve!
For complete details on the campaign and more resources on how to take part in the challenge, visit the National Home Improvement Month website.
Are you ready to get started?
If you are looking to take this on, we understand that deciding what to change can be daunting.
We’ve got 3 home improvement ideas that will help you get started.
Refresh your kitchen
Our kitchens have seen a lot more use lately, from using it as an impromptu office space to using the room to make the most of family time. We’re sure we aren’t the only ones that have sat there thinking of the ways to renovate our kitchens.
To make a quick and simple change why not refresh your cabinets? Adding either a coat of paint or new handles can transform an older style of kitchen. If you want to go for a full transformation, why not speak to us about getting a brand new kitchen custom made to you.
Add removable wallpaper to a wall
Whether you own or rent your own home it’s never been easier to put your own spin on a room. Removable wallpaper is a great way to add a feature wall to any room in your home. It’s easy to apply and when you’re bored with it simply peel it off with minimal damage to the wall.
Geometric prints and art deco are big trends for 2020. Why not experiment and add patterns to your master bedroom? If you get bored of it you can always remove it and switch up later in the year with far less mess and fuss than if you’d wallpapered the wall traditionally.
Tidy up and transform your front entrance
People don’t like to admit it, but we all care about how our home looks. We all want to make a good first impression and your front door can say a lot about you.
Peeling paint and damaged handles can not only make your entrance look unfinished, it could also make your property unsecure. We can help you find a new door that suits your home and personality.
Don’t just stop at a new front door, spruce up the entrance way with new plants, repaint any wood and then give your garden a good manicure to complete the look.
At Bon Accord we’ve been transforming homes since 1974, whether your renovation plans are big or small we’re here to help. Just contact us for assistance.
