It can be tricky deciding how to utilise a conservatory as there are so many options – do you for instance create an extra sitting room or extra lounge space? Why not do both and also draw your breakfast bar / kitchen into the design. A P-shaped conservatory makes all of this possible as highlighted in this installation where the conservatory acts as a lounge, dining area and kitchen all rolled into one. In order to merge the P–shaped design into the house successfully we utilised a roof covering and roofline supplementing the original roof tiles and roofline.
There’s immense headspace in the new vibrantly coloured sitting room thanks to the loftiness of the apex roof with more of an intimate atmosphere at the dining table due to the roof in that part of the design being slightly lower to the ground. Generally, downlighters are traditionally used on the inside of a conservatory, but keen to show off their new extension to the world at night, the occupants requested the addition of downlighters in the exterior pelmet. They’re obviously very switched on homeowners and extremely proud of the P-shaped conservatory that’s given them new-found reason to live a life of home luxury.
