UPVC window and feature door installation at a Whitecairns home
Historic stables just north of Aberdeen that are now a treasured family home receive an essential contemporary upgrade.
Some years back, these historic stables were converted into luxury family accommodation.
Certain components of the building had begun showing signs of ageing, including the windows, which were completely ‘done’. Being so old, they’d leak and impact the indoor climate, forcing over-usage of energy and raising fuel costs. It had also become increasingly difficult for the occupiers to operate some old patio doors, making transitions from the indoors to the outdoors a more strenuous job than it ought to be.
Rather than let the problems persist, they wisely decided to get the window and door openings updated, approaching their local premium installer, Bon Accord Glass, to assist.
Crucially to them, the incoming window and door facets would have to match to create a consistent aesthetic across the property. It was a project tailor-made for someone with our decades-long experience and enormous product mix to realise.
Arrangements were made for one of our design experts to discuss the customer’s requirements at the house.
It became clear to the customer from this one-to-one conversation how open and honest the expert was about what he thought would work best and be most appropriate for the space, and they appreciated it. They also liked that he didn’t try any upsell tactics, was transparent about pricing and refrained from returning with a better deal than the one originally offered.

The aesthetics of the stables have been massively uplifted upon installation of the timber-effect UPVC window and feature door replacements, which perfectly match, with year-round comfort restored. A noticeable decrease in noise from the busy road outside has been an added benefit of the improvements, much to their delight.
